Xiaomi Introduces Wireless Air Charge Technology

There is a lot of competition in the global smartphone market and only a handful of companies have thrived in this competitive environment. In order to, remain relevant all smartphone manufacturers need to consistently innovate. There are no other way consumers will buy products if they are not as technologically advanced as other phones in the market. Even though there is pressure to search for the next big thing, it also offers a lot of opportunities for every company to grow. New ideas introduced by any of the smartphone manufacturers can increase their demand and revenue overnight.

The few companies that have thrived in this innovative and competitive environment are – Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, and OnePlus. They have brought refreshing ideas to the smartphone market and pushed technological boundaries every single year. Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world and it has grown exponentially in the last few years. Recently Xiaomi came up with another unique idea that was previously unthought. The “Mi Air Charge Technology” introduced by the company is a new wireless charging system that can charge devices that are within few meters of its radius.

The charging system can charge multiple devices at 5W. Even physical obstructions do not affect the charging efficiency. The idea is impressive and its execution has been even better. Wireless charging is not a new concept but no one has done it before like Xiaomi is doing now. The device can not only charge smartphones but even fitness bracelets and smartwatches can be charged using it. With this new device, Xiaomi aims to make the living room truly wireless. Since it can charge lamps, speakers, and smart home devices, that goal seems quite realistic now. However, there is no official confirmation of the release of the product.

All we know so far is that no device this year will be compatible with the Air Charge Technology which means we will have to wait for the product for a few years maybe. Regardless of the time that it takes, Xiaomi has done a tremendous job of introducing a previously unfathomable way of looking at wireless charging.

As competition between different smartphone companies becomes tougher every day, Xiaomi’s competitors will be pushed to come up with something similar as soon as possible. As of now, it is quite obvious that Xiaomi is here to stay. It has been dominating the global smartphone market in the last few years and it is likely to do so in coming years as well.
