Sleep Option Missing on Windows 10? Here are the Fixes

The sleep function mode feature is really important for your gadgets. It offers them some time to take a rest and save on power. But some users are reporting that they are unable to see the sleep option on their Windows 10 PC. Did you already reboot the system and have installed the newest updates of Windows 10? Is the problem still there? If you want to solve this annoying issue, then follow this blog.

Check the Settings of power Options

  1. Go to the Start icon and right-click on it, then choose Power Options.
  2. Then click on the ‘Choose what the Power buttons do’ option.
  3. Select the ‘Change settings that are currently unavailable’ option.
  4. You should click on the ‘Shutdown settings’ option.
  5. Later, locate the Sleep button and mark the checkbox.
  6. Now, hit on the Save changes option.
  7. Finally, reboot the system.

Check the Applicable Sleep States

  1. Hit on the Start button to launch the Search section.
  2. After that, input ‘cmd’ in it and select the OK button to invoke the Command Prompt.
  3. Then right-click on it and choose the ‘Run as administrator’ option.
  4. Hit on the Yes button to verify.
  5. Once you get the pop-up, input ‘powercfg –a’ in it and select the OK button to launch the applicable sleep states.

Reset and Restore the Power Plans to Standard

  1. Press the Windows button to launch the Search section.
  2. After that, input ‘cmd’ in it and select the OK button to open the Command Prompt.
  3. Once you get it, right-click on it, then choose the ‘Run as administrator’ option.
  4. You should click on the Yes button to verify.
  5. Once you get the pop-up, input ‘powercfg –restoredefaultschemes’ in it and hit the Enter button.

Make Group Policy Changes

  1. Go to the Windows icon and click on it.
  2. Then enter Run and open it.
  3. You should input ‘gpedit.msc’ in it and select the OK button.
  4. After that, insert ‘User ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesStart Menu and Taskbar’ in it and select the OK button.
  5. Navigate to the ‘Remove and Prevent access to the Shut Down command’ option and twice click on it.
  6. You have to choose the Disabled button.
  7. Reach the ‘Change Start Menu power button’ option and twice click on it.
  8. Then click on the Enabled option.
  9. Now, select the Shutdown option.

Execute Clean Boot

  1. At first, sign in as an administrator.
  2. Reach the Search section and input ‘msconfig’ in it, and hit the Enter button.
  3. You should click on the ‘System Configuration’ option.
  4. Then locate the tab of Services.
  5. After that, tick the ‘Hide all Microsoft services’ checkbox.
  6. Go to the ‘Disable all’ option and click on it.
  7. Select the tab of ‘Startup.’
  8. Now, click on the ‘Open Task Manager’ option.
  9. Later, shut the Task Manager and select the OK button.
  10. Finally, reboot the system.
