AirPods, AirPod Pros, or any other Bluetooth headphones that are already connected to your other gadgets, connects automatically whenever you pair.
But if this isn’t happening, you need to get in some quick troubleshooting.
Headphones which have the H1 or W1 chip
Apple and Beats headphones which have the H1 or W1 chip can be connected to the Apple Watch. The steps which will be mentioned below are applied to all the headphones with the same chip to connect to an Apple Watch.
H1 and W1 chips do not have much of a difference between them. H1 chips are just a modified version that improves the wireless activity and supports ‘Hey Siri’ approach.
Pairing your AirPods with devices like iPhone or iPad
AirPods, AirPods Pro, or any other agreeable headphone that you connect to your iPhone or an iPad will automatically connect to the Apple Watch as well until or unless you use two different I-cloud accounts.
The steps to connect your AirPods to your iPhone or iPad are:
- Unlock your iPhone and go to the home screen.
- Headphones like AirPods or AirPod Pro has a charging case with it. If you have headphones that have a charging case, open it next to your device while keeping the headphones inside.
- Also, there is a power button on your headphones; press it for a few seconds near your other connecting device.
- Your home screen will show you an option to ‘Connect,’ tap on the same to connect your headphones to your device and Apple Watch.
Settings for you AirPods to directly connect to your Apple Watch
By default, when you play music or any other audio on your Apple Watch, it should play on your connecting Airpods. In case, this is not happening, you can manually connect your Airpods to your Apple Watch by following the steps below:
- Keep your headphones turned on to connect them to your Apple Watch.
- Swipe up on the ‘Home Screen’ of the Apple Watch to get to the ‘Control center.’
- From the list of icons, select the ‘Audio Sources’ icon.
- You’ll then see name of your headphones on the screen. Tap on it to connect and play the audio on your AirPods.
If you don’t see the name of your headphones in the ‘Audio Sources,’ you can do this with other methods mentioned below.
It happens very rarely that the name of the headphone doesn’t appear on the screen but F.Y.I., let’s discuss the steps:
- Go to settings and then Bluetooth in your Apple Watch.
- In the Bluetooth section, you may see the name of your headphones, which means they’re up to pair. Just turn the power button on and hold your headphones close to the Apple Watch.
- If you don’t see your headphones in the Bluetooth section as well, do as follows:
- Turn on the pairing mode of your headphones.
- If you have a charging case, open the case near to the device while headphones still in it.
- Hold the Sync button for few seconds.
- If the headphones do not have a charging case, hold the power button for a few seconds.
- Within seconds, your headphones must appear under the ‘Devices’ section. Tap to pair.
