How to Connect Samsung Smart TV with Alexa

After connecting Samsung’s Smart TV with Alexa, it becomes easy to access the TV. People who are using Samsung Smart TV from the year 2018 or above can access it simply by voice commands. There are a couple of apps that a user needs to install to start the voice commanding feature in their old Smart TV. Once the voice command feature is activated, users will be able to use turn up/turn down, power on/off and few more useful features.

Luckily, if anyone is using Samsung Q60t QLED TV which launched in 2020, their TV has got built-in Alexa. So in this Samsung Smart TV, users don’t need to attach a smart speaker, because built-in Alexa can hear all voice commands, do voice interactions, change channels, search for shows and movies, start the music and many more things. But if anyone doesn’t have a new Samsung Smart TV and is willing to add Alexa, then they need to follow the right procedure.

How to Connect Samsung Smart TV with Alexa

The first thing every user must do is set up both Samsung Smart TV and Alexa and start functioning. Once the setup of both devices is complete, connect them with a common Wi-Fi.

The next thing a user needs to do is get their smartphone ready to coordinate with both of the devices. Download the Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings application on smartphones. It is available for both iOS and Android devices. Sign in both Samsung and Alexa apps with the same account.

Search the TV in SmartThings Application

Find the Samsung Smart TV in Samsung SmartThings application and connect your smart TV. It will allow the user to connect with the Alexa speaker easily, and to do this, go to the Device section first. Choose the Add Device option. Turn on the TV to find the device quickly.

Pair the smartphone with Samsung Smart TV, and toggle on to enable the TV to utilize it as a smart device.

Find Smart Speaker in Alexa Application

Once the Samsung Smart TV is found and paired with the smartphone, users have to search for Alexa too. Whatever the device user is planning to connect with Smart TV must find the device in Samsung SmartThings first and pair it with the smartphone.

Connect the Applications

Once the Alexa app is found and linked with the smartphone, activate the Samsung SmartThings skill and log in with the same Samsung account to link both accounts.

Choose Your TV in Alexa Application

After enabling the Samsung SmartThings, the Alexa will automatically get paired with smart TV and that’s all a user has to do.
