  • First and foremost, double-tap on the desktop shortcut icon.
  • Then, hit the Properties section.
  • Now, press the Shortcut button there.
  • Next, press the tab related to the shortcut key, and then you will be required to type a fresh shortcut for your website or a particular program. Input the letter to set up a fresh hotkey, and your shortcut should be in the combination of various letters such as “Ctrl + Alt.” In this case, if you enter the “I” key, then the shortcut key will be “Ctrl + Alt + I.” If you wish to add a special function key, then you can do so as these function keys are available on most of the keyboards.
  • Once you have selected your letters or function keys for hotkey creation, then hit the Apply tab there and then press the OK button.

  • Firstly, add a shortcut to the function you wish. To do so, apply the right mouse, click on the Desktop, and then hit the New button.
  • Now, press the Shortcut option.
  • A fresh window will appear, and then you have to navigate to the section asking to enter the item location. You have to input “shutdown.exe –s –t 00” into the provided space. This hotkey will enable your PC to shut down.
  • For restarting operations: Type the keywords “shutdown –r –t 00” into the provided bar to make your system accept this shortcut to reboot the device.
  • For Signing Out from Windows: You have to enter “shutdown.exe –L”  into the same section for logout operation via hotkeys.
  • Once you have done the above steps, then hit the Next button and enter a suitable title for your shortcut. One can rename the shortcut related to a specific purpose. E.g., You can name “shutdown” for the hotkeys performing shut down operations.
  • Then, hit the Finish tab to get out from the configuration window of Create Shortcut.
  • After that, provide a particular shortcut to a new hotkey, as mentioned above. Then, apply the right mouse click and hit the Properties section.
  • Next, press the Shortcut button and type the particular letter into the text field of “shortcut key.”
  • Finally, tap OK to exit from the expanded window.
  • Now, you have to check all the shortcuts that you have made and make sure that all are working properly.
