How to Fix the CDVD READ ERROR in PCSX2 Emulator



The CDVD READ ERROR appears in the PCSX2 emulators precisely when you try to use it to load and play your favorite PlayStation games. Solution 2: Via Direct3D9 Renderer
If the previous method failed to solve the CDVD READ ERROR issue on your device, then follow these steps:
  1. Head to PCSX2 Emulator and mount the PS2 BIOS if prompted.
  2. When you see the main program window as well as the Program log, head to Config.
  3. Then go to Video (GS).
  4. Click on Plugin Settings.
  5. In the GSdx Settings window, open the drop-down menu beside to Renderer and then select it as Direct3D9 (Hardware).
  6. Hit Ok.

  1. Explore an internet browser and the head to “https://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download”.
  2. Now start the download and sit tight until the process is finished.
  3. Then open the ImgBurn installation .exe file and obey the prompts on your screen to finish the installation process.
  4. Now reboot the PC to successfully setup the ImgBurn program.
  5. Next, navigate to the Imageburn app and then head to Create Image from Disk.
  6. After that, pick a file path where you wish to save ISO and then press on the most appropriate button to start the ISO creation process.
  7. Once the file is created, head to the PCSX2 emulator and then head to CDVD using the top menu.
  8. Head to ISO.
  9. Then navigate to CDVD following by ISO Selector.
  10. Click on the Browse option.
  11. Browse to the newly created ISO file and then double-click it to insert it to the PCSX2 emulator.
  12. When the file loads successfully to the PCSX2 emulator, head to System from the upper menu.
  13. Head to Boot CDVD in the drop-down options.
  14. The game would now run without any issues, and the CDVD READ ERROR should be resolved even while playing the same title.
Solution 4: Use DirectX11 over the GSDX Renderer 
By choosing the DirectX11 instead of GSDX Renderer, you can flawlessly play your favorite title even that one with the CDVD READ ERROR. Here’s how to change the GSDX Renderer to DirectX11:
  1. Head to PCSX2 emulator and then navigate to Config form the upper menu.
  2. Choose the Video(GS) option and press on Plugin Settings.
  3. In the GSdx Settings, open the drop-down beside to Renderer and then select it as Direct3D11 (Hardware).
  4. Then head to Ok to save your changes.
  5. Exit from the PCSX2 emulator.
  6. Now open the emulator again and run the game, which was showing errors.
  7. The CDVD READ ERROR would be now terminated.
